I'm new, what can I expect on Sunday?
SERVICE BEGINS AT 10AM
Each service begins right on time at 10am. Wear whatever makes you comfortable – jeans and t-shirts, more formal if you like, whatever makes you comfortable. Great kids programs for children are available at all services. We have a nursery for your babies and toddlers, and a children's church for kids up to 5th grade. Our Children's Ministry teams also provide excellent puppet shows and skits weekly to drive home the main teaching points.
FIND A PLACE FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR KIDS
There will be numerous greeters wearing name badges all around. You can ask them to point you to the sanctuary, the restrooms, or to the nursery check-in if you have infants or toddlers. We keep the older kids in service until after the music portion of the service ends, then they are dismissed to children's church. We also have a Connection Center in the main foyer/entryway with volunteers who can help you with directions, questions or whatever you might need.
ENJOY THE SERVICE
Our services are designed to inspire and challenge you while at the same time teaching you deep biblical truths that apply to your every day life. The service will last about an hour and twenty minutes total (roughly 80 minutes) and will sometimes include funny and creative video elements, 4 or 5 songs (some hymns, some modern, some secular if it fits the mood) and about a 45 -minute verse by verse biblical sermon that applies to your everyday life. Our goal is for you to walk away each week with a modern-day application of a Biblical principle.
ARRIVE AND GET PARKED
Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early to find parking, and get to the sanctuary. The church is located in the north side of Manhattan right on HWY 52 – look out for our big blue signs on the side of the road in front of our building to direct you. There’s ample parking and we also have space available at the front door to drop people off who may have a difficult time walking long distances through the parking lot.
FREE COFFEE & SNACKS
When you arrive and come in the building look to your left, and you will see the coffee bar where every week we have free coffee and snacks before and after each service. You can bring it right to your seat in the sanctuary with you if you like. There's nothing like sitting back and sipping hot coffee while hearing a good bible based message and learning more about Jesus!
RELAX AND BE OUR GUEST
During our services, you’ll never be singled out as a visitor. You aren’t expected to participate in the offering. You can remain entirely anonymous if you like. The only thing you’ll be encouraged to do is fill out a Connection Card so we know you were with us and can give you some more information. You can take the time to come visit the Connection Center afterwards so we can get to know you a little. We’ll have a small gift there for you too! When you are comfortable, you can take the next step by joining a Small Group, serving in a ministry team or attending a membership class to find out why we do what we do. We want you to feel welcome and completely at ease to explore your faith, wherever you are on that journey,
JUST FOR THE KIDS
We believe that Jesus loved to teach children and that they can handle bibilcal truth at a young age. Therefore, we provide engaging, fun, and Bible based ministry for children. A major focus at Revolution Church is family. We want families learning together, serving together, and worshipping together. This is accomplished through: teaching on Sundays, equipping parents with tools and skills to pastor their homes, and by actively incorporating children into the church body. Our desire is to include our children and youth in the service as soon as possible, because we believe they can handle biblical truth at a young age.
What can my kids expect?
Singing: We will sing praises to our God because He is worthy (Psalm 47:6)
Lesson: We will open God's Word and learn about our Savior (Psalm 119:105)
Scripture: We will memorize verses so that the truth is in our kids at all times (Proverbs 7:1-3)
"CONNECTING THIS GENERATION TO JESUS AND DISCIPLING FAMILIES"
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.
We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.
The Human Condition
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus-Israel’s promised Messiah-was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Work of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.
We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. Though they are not the means of salvation, when celebrated by the church in genuine faith, these ordinances confirm and nourish the believer. The Church is a local community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the Gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.
We believe in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
Response and Eternal Destiny
We believe that God commands everyone everywhere to believe the gospel by turning to Him in repentance and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the dead bodily and judge the world, assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and eternal conscious punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth, to the praise of His glorious grace. Amen.
