Welcome back, church family and visitors! 

Our songs today were “Go Tell It On the Mountain”, ”Hark the Herald”, “Heart Of Worship”, “God With Us”, “Christmas Hallelujah” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”. On this second Sunday of Advent Larry Dedmon and Dawn Gonda lit the white Candle of Peace and read the scriptures for this Christmas holy season.

Friday evening was our women’s annual Christmas Dinner event with a packed house! There was a Cookie Exchange, holiday music, and a message delivered by guest speaker, Miriam Sandoval. Music included “Joy to the World”, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”, Go Tell It On the Mountain” and “Mary Did You Know”. The tables were unique and so festively decorated for the turkey and the trimmings feast! Many took home classy raffle prizes. Special thanks to Brenda Hajek for leading this event. She and her team spent countless days planning, shopping, rehearsing, and baking as their gift to the guests. Brenda blessed each official team member with a star lapel pin for the men and a “Go Tell It On the Mountain necklace or earrings for the ladies. Round of applause for all the volunteers who worked hard to make this a beautiful evening!

Sign up sheet is available to attend Stone Soup potluck on Dec. 17th after service.  Sign up to save a chair and also indicate what you will bring to eat.  Please cook enough so we will have plenty for the visitors who choose to stay for the meal. 

Our annual Ugly Sweater contest happens at the Stone Soup meal, so get creative and let’s see who most impresses the judges with their gaudiness. It’s time to let your Christmas freak flag fly! If you don’t have a sweater, just dress in something fun and festive.  There will be prizes for the best of the best!

Small Group meets at the Hajek home in New Lenox 6:30 pm this Thursday.  This is the only class meeting for December.  Everybody is invited.

Invite your family and friends to our Sunday morning Christmas Eve Service.  There is no PM service this year.

Belated Happy Birthday to our Freda Wolfenden! Happy Birthday today to greeter Harvery Ferguson! Next Sunday Pat Baker celebrates hers! Larry and Eileen DeSando are celebrating their 40th anniversary this week!  Congrats!

Best wishes to Judy Fash who is having hip surgery Thursday. If you would like to make a meal to help her over the hump, speak to Dawn Gonda to volunteer with Fishes and Loaves.

Welcome back, church family and visitors!  Thank you for visiting this page this first Sunday in December.

December 8th, 6 pm is our Women’s Christmas Dinner at the church for those who have RSVP’d and purchased a ticket for a seat. There is a Cookie Exchange at the event for those wishing to participate. You may fill your cookie bag (provided) with the same amount of cookies as you brought. Field all questions to Judy Fash or Brenda Hajek.

Because of the busyness of the season, there will be no Senior Ministry lunch in December.  Women’s prayer scheduled for Dec. 9th is cancelled.

Men’s Donuts and Devotional is 8 AM, Dec, 9th at the church.  Let Pastor Bob know if you are coming so he can buy enough pastries.

Sign up sheet is available to attend Stone Soup potluck on Dec. 17th after service.  Sign up to save a chair and also indicate what you will bring so we can have a plentiful, balanced meal.  Let’s cook enough for our families PLUS a visitor so we will have ample!

Happy Birthday to Peggy Walley-Rock tomorrow! Harvey “Frog Legs” Ferguson’s birthday is next Sunday!  Special get well wishes are going out to Freda Wolfenden.

Welcome back, church family and visitors!  We’re glad you have joined us here in spite of the morning snow to find out what’s happening this Thanksgiving weekend at the church. We see that many of you are still wearing your stretchy pants with the drawstring and elastic band, so it looks like we all were well-fed Thursday.

How festive and classy looking was our sanctuary?  Judy Fash and her team of volunteers did a tremendous job decorating and beautifying God’s house for the winter season!  Thank you!

Our songs today were “Lord You Are Good”, ”No Sweeter Name”, “Thank You Jesus For the Blood”, “I Can Only Imagine”, and “He Is Lord”. The message, ”The End" was delivered by Pastor Billy.  Text was from Mark 7:1-13. We shared in Communion. Monthly prayer meeting followed for those wishing to stay after service. Our annual coat drive for Morning Star Mission concluded today.  Special thanks to Kevin Giera for donating 15 new coats paid for with his work bonus! The Lord loves cheerful givers. Your gifts were prayed over, and we hope the recipients will feel the love from strangers.  

Elder Larry DeSando has made himself available 24/7 if you need prayer or need him for anything church related.  Call or text him at 815-351-8378.

There has been a brief extension for your Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts.  Although our church shipment has already departed, Betsy Burnett and Gene O’Brien can be sure your box reaches the shipping center if you bring it next week.

December 8th, 6 pm is our Women’s Christmas Dinner at the church.  Judy Fash is selling tickets for $10, and seats were nearly sold out last week. Checks can be written to her. If you can assist with clean up, volunteer with Judy or Brenda Hajek.  Men, if you would like to help serve our women that evening, volunteer with Pastor Bob.

Samaritan’s Purse shoebox collection ended today, and we had prayer over all your gifts.  Special thanks to Gene O’Brien for leading this annual project! If you forgot your box today, you will need to find another drop-off location.

If you would like to host a table, or assist with clean up, volunteer with Judy or Brenda Hajek.  Men, if you would like to help serve our women that evening, volunteer with Pastor Bob.

It was fantastic to have Dale and Brendan Steen joining us all the way from Mississippi.  We have certainly missed them since Dale moved south. Three cheers for Richard Rock being well enough to return to church after many weeks of absence from shingles.

Happy Birthday to Mildred Juden on the 17th, Deacon Diane Neakarse and Nick Radtke on the 25th, Kevin Ward on the 26th, and Nate Radtke on the 28th!

Does everybody have a place to eat Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday? After service several folks who are willing and eager to set extra plates at their tables stood at the front of the church giving out their contact info if any of you would like to go to their home for fellowship.  Get in touch ASAP if you would like to join one of these families. Don’t be shy! You will be so welcome!

We enjoyed another potluck Stone Soup Sunday after service.  We appreciate all who cooked, set up, and cleaned up.  When everybody does a little nobody has to do a lot. Remember to bring enough for your family plus a visitor, and we will always have more than plenty.

Women’s Christmas planning meeting was after church for all ladies interested in helping in various ways for the December 8th, 6 pm event.  We still need a few more table hostesses.  Brenda Hajek and Judy Fash are selling tickets for $10.  Checks can be written to Judy.

Thank you to all the kind volunteers who donated and signed Thanksgiving cards for the inmates in Graybars Project! Your encouraging words will make a lot of homesick prisoners feel less alone in the world.

The Harvest Table is still up and running.  Thank you to the person who brought us the bags of fresh tomatoes! 

Pastor Billy read a thank you letter from the community food pantry thanking the church for their continued support with monthly food donations.

Trick or Treat Trail event has been pulled because not enough folks were able to fit the event into their schedules.  It’s ok.  We’ll try again next year! If you already donated candy, see Pastor Billy to reclaim it.

Thank you to Samaritan’s Purse shoebox packers who helped put together boxes for Christmas at the church Saturday. Thank you to Betsy Burnett for inviting us to help pack her many collected items. 108 boxes were prepared yesterday!  Pick up your box plus a SEX/AGE GROUP LABEL to attach from the back row.

Hello, folks!  Let’s get caught up on the latest church news on this drizzly October Sunday! A warm welcome to our many visitors who joined us again today.  We are glad you have chosen Revolution Church.

Our songs today were “Come Now Is the Time to Worship”, ”Good Morning Mercy”, “Agnus Dei”, “How Great Is Our God/How Great Thou Art”, and “Oh, How I Love Jesus”.   The message, ”I Am Unashamed” , was delivered by Pastor Billy with text from Romans 1:16. Stone Soup monthly fellowship meal was held after service.  Thank you to all who cooked, set up and cleaned up.  It was fun, and there were plenty of leftovers to take home for supper!

2023 Pumpkin Decorating Contest was held after the meal.  Winners were chosen by popular vote.  Children’s Division: 1st place: Reagan  Hippenhammer, 2nd place: Elisabeth Hippenhammer.  Adult Division: 1st place: Tammy Smit.  All won candy and a gift card to Dunkin Donuts.  Unfortunately, Jason Hippenhammer’s “invisible pumpkin” was not seen by voters and received a technical 2nd place. Heeee-hee-heee!  Congrats, girls, and thanks for participating!

Senior Lunch for 55+ is Oct. 18th at noon. Free admission, but you are asked to contribute a dish to share for the chili and fixin’s meal.

Manhattan Trick or Treat Trail at the Round Barn is Saturday, October 28th 12-2.  We need volunteers representing out church to decorate the table, dress up, pass out candy, and clean up. Sign up at the Connect Table.

This Saturday ladies will meet at the Knotts’ home for prayer at 8 am.  Men will meet at the church at the same time for Donuts and Devotions. Free, but please let Penny and Bob know if you are coming so they will haven enough chairs and donuts ready.

Wednesday at 6:30 is “23” the young adult sharing group that meets at the Knott home in Manhattan. 

Samaritan’s Purse shoebox packers: Your October 21st packing day with Geno and Betsy is now meeting at the church at 2 pm instead of noon! There is still room for more helpers if you’d like to sign up at the Connection Table.

Special get well wishes are going out to Mildred Juden.  She came from Memphis to enjoy family time here, and wound up in Silver Cross several days.  We are glad she has been released from the hospital.

Hello, folks!  Let’s get caught up on the latest church news on this chilly October Sunday! A warm welcome to our many visitors who joined us again today.  We hope you are feeling at home here.

Wasn’t the sactuary gorgeously decorated for fall today?  We have Judy Fash and Faith Cromwell to thank for this! A+ job, ladies!

Our songs today were “I’ll Fly Away”, ”He Reigns”, “Open the Eyes of My Heart”, “10,000 Reasons”, and “Sunday’s Coming”.   The message,”WHY?” , was delivered by Elder Larry DeSando using text from John 16:33 and Romans 8:28-29. The Harvest Table continues to be a blessing to those who enjoy fresh produce.  Today we had free yellow squash.

Stone Soup Sunday is Oct. 15th after service.  Everybody is invited to bring potluck and eat together.  We need help setting up and cleaning up, also.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be held after the Stone Soup meal.  Bring your pumpkins to church pre-cut, pre-decorated and ready to exhibit. Leave them in your car until after service when we will set up a display table for voting.  Prizes will be awarded.

Small Group will be held in New Lenox at Brenda Hajek’s home Thursday, 6:30 pm.  All are welcome for Bible study and refreshments.

Senior Lunch for 55+ is Oct. 18th at noon. Free admission, but you are asked to sign up to attend and to contribute a dish to share for the chili and fixin’s meal.

Manhattan Trick or Treat Trail at the Round Barn is Saturday, October 28th 12-2.  We need volunteers representing out church to decorate the table, dress up, pass out candy, and clean up. Sign up at the Connect Table.
