Sandoval Ministries put on a special puppet show for our kids.  It was good seeing all of them again, and the children enjoyed it!

This is the fourth Sunday of Advent.  Carolyn Summins and Jessica Holub lit the Candle of Love and read the Advent scriptures.

Annual Ugly Sweater Contest was today, and you guys sure showed up in some doozies!  Winners took home gift cards to Chik-fil-A.  Congrats to Favorite Couple: George and Darla Carrol and their little dog who was even wrapped in lights!  Favorite Male was Luiz Lopez in his Gingerbread Man suit!  Favorite Female was Reagan Hippenhammer in her cat jumpsuit!

Thank you to all who helped make our Christmas Lunch a success after service.  It takes a lot of work to transform the sanctuary into a fellowship hall, then reverse it to restore order a couple hours later.  The food was yummy and plentiful, and the Hippenhammer kids were our entertainmen singing, and playing piano and violin! Great job, all!

Special thanks to Kevin Giera for playing Santa after the luncheon.  Many folks sat on his knee and got the sweetest photos taken with him!

Please note that folks who signed up to help process Samaritan’s Purse Christmas boxes for shipping can take that day off.  Enough help has been provided so that we are no longer needed.  Rest!

If you desire to learn more about the fundamentals of Christianity, please sign up at the Connection Table for “Foundations” taught by Pastor Bob and Heather Smith. Start date is to be determined.

If you are interested in learning to journal and develop your quiet time, Penny Knott is offering to teach you in her home at 8 a.m. before church on Sunday mornings if there is enough interest. You will be working through “Life Journal” by Wayne Cordeiro. Sign up at the Connection Table.

Pastor Billy’s online study of 2 Corinthians is Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on his Face Book page. Worship Wednesday is noon on FB and You Tube. This week’s devotion was postponed because of car trouble at air time. Sorry about that. Worship Wednesday will be up and running again this week!

Happy Birthday to Reagan Hippenhammer on the 19th, bass player, Phil Graniczny on the 21st and camera guy, Bruce Smit on the 23rd!

Great news!  Jamie Meskin has passed her exam and is now officially a child psychologist!  We are so proud of you, Jamie!

Funeral service for Durk Lee was Thursday.  Burial is private in New York on Tuesday. He will certainly be missed at this church. Three of his large floral displays were shared today, and we were encouraged to pull the flowers and make our own bouquets to carry home.  Let’s come alongside Linda and do all we can to help her navigate this devastating loss. A shared meal, rides to church, and running of errands would likely be most appreciated to help her avoid dangerous winter driving.

That’s our news for the day. Thanks for sharing your time with us!  Have a blessed week, and we will see you Saturday for Christmas Eve service at 5 pm. Please be prompt as the lights will be low during the service.  Yes, we most certainly ARE  having church on Christmas morning! Let’s have a house full and celebrate!

This is the third Sunday of Advent.  Bob and Autumn Hensle lit the Candle of Joy and read the Advent scriptures.

Our annual Christmas evening for the ladies was Friday night, and it was incredibly beautiful!  There was a guest speaker (Gail Morris), games, prizes, music, and a fine supper in the beautifully decorated sanctuary! Brenda Hajek led an outstanding team that worked hard to pull it off without a hitch!  Thank you, men, for serving, cleaning, and restoring the sanctuary furniture in time for today’s worship. Today’s Ministry Highlight featured all who helped with this event.

Annual Ugly Sweater contest is NEXT SUNDAY, so let’s get busy and show off your creativity from head to toe with the sparkle and the colors of the holiday! There will be prizes, so we hope for a lot of participation.

After church NEXT SUNDAY you are invited to stay for our holiday lunch where the kids will be singing for us! Church provides fried chicken, and everybody else is to bring the desserts and side dishes.  We MUST know how many to prepare for, so RSVP ASAP if you haven’t signed up.

Be inviting your family and friends to join us for Christmas Eve Candlelight service here at 5-6 pm on the 24th.  We will also have service Christmas morning at 10 a.m.

Pastor Bob will be street ministering and passing out Blessing Bags, socks, gloves and blankets with Sandoval Ministries on Saturday, Dec. 17. If you would like to go, too, speak to Pastor Bob ASAP.

Many thanks to the volunteers who participated in the mailout of Christmas cards to the inmates in Graybars Project.  We are already getting positive feedback from recipients! Everybody likes to be remembered.

Special prayers are needed for the Lees. Durk came home from the hospital with hospice this week, and passed away Sunday morning.  Plans are incomplete at the time of this post, but Pastor Billy will notify us as soon as they are finalized. Let us rally around Linda   and her childrenat this difficult time. Their 69th anniversary was to be in January.

That’s our news for the day. Thanks for reading!  Have a blessed week, and we will see you next Sunday in your holiday tackiest garb!

December 4, 2022

Welcome, December!  Thank you, friends, for stopping here to see what’s happening at Revolution Church this week!

We had several visitors in person and watching online, so that made us happy!

Today’s songs were “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “Blessed Assurance”, “Even So Come”, and ”Jesus Messiah”. Pastor Billy began a new December series, “God With Us” with text from Isaiah 7:7-1. (You can watch this and past messages by going to the home page and clicking WATCH.

This is the second Sunday of Advent.  The Carlos Lara family lit the Candle of PEACE and read the Advent scriptures.

So many of you have commented about the beauty of the Christmas cross on stage.  Grant and Faith Cromwell and Greg and Judy Fash are the folks to thank for what you see. Fantastic job!

What a collection of food we will have to share with the community pantry!  This is the most generous church!  Thanks for today’s donations.  Remember, we always collect the first Sunday of the month.

Ladies, our annual Christmas event is Friday, December 9th at 6 pm here at the church, and you do NOT want to miss this!  There will be a guest speaker, games, prizes, music, and a fine supper in the beautifully decorated sanctuary.  $10 tickets are going fast.  Hurry and purchase so you can choose where you would like to sit.  Heather Smith is the lone ticket seller.  Brenda Hajek can answer any questions about this evening.

Gentlemen, we are seeking a few good men to serve at the women’s Christmas event.  Will you dress up and show up so our ladies can have a couple hours of relaxation?  Pastor Bob can give you more information.

Annual Ugly Sweater contest is Sunday, December 18th, so let’s get busy and show off our creativity with the jingle and the sparkle!

After church on the 18th you are invited to stay for our holiday lunch where the kids will be singing for us! Church provides fried chicken, and everybody else is to bring the desserts and side dishes.  We MUST know how many to prepare for, so SIGN UP ASAP at the Connection Table for a seat and to contribute food.

Let us encourage you to sign the Graybars Project birthday cards for our inmates at the back table. A word of encouragement is always welcomed, especially around the holidays which is the loneliest time to be away from family and friends. Several of these inmates are relatives of church members.
