Our songs were ”Come, Now Is the Time to Worship”, “If We Are the Body”, “Come As You Are”, “Raise a Hallelujah”, a golden oldie, “I Can Sing of Your Love Forever” and “He Is Lord”. We appreciate Jessica Holub singing with the band today!

Check out the outstanding Easter tomb replica on the Graybars Prison table!  This was created by our own Judy Fash, and is fashioned from PAPER! This woman has remarkable artistic talent, and we are so glad she is a part of this church!

Senior Ministry sure had fun at Wednesday’s St. Patrick’s Day luncheon!  Traditional corned beef and cabbage meal was served with all the fixings.  Brenda Hajek was guest speaker! The group also celebrated Linda Lee who just turned 87!

Several folk from our church partnered with Sandoval Ministries and did homeless street ministry in Chicago Saturday.  It was windy and frigid, but they all seemed blessed by going and interacting with the people living outside. The Smiths can give you more information if you wish to participate next month.

Eileen DeSando has finished our new directory, and it is colorful and beautifully put together. Your copy is waiting on the Connection Table, and it is free.  One per family, please.  These are only for use by people who attend Revolution Church.

March 12, 2023

Welcome back to What’s Happening page!

Today kicked off “spring forward” daylight savings time change, so we lost an hour of sleep, then it started flurrying! Thanks for coming on to church even if you were a bit sleepy and are not a fan of snow.

Our songs were ”Joy In the House of the Lord”, “Soul On Fire”, “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus”, and “It Is Well”. Pastor Billy began a new series, “Jesus Revolution” with a message called “Let the Revolution Begin”.   Text was from John 14 and John 8:31-32.   (You can watch this and past messages by going to the home page and clicking WATCH.)

We were overjoyed to see JoAnn Preston walk through the doors after her extended medical absence!  She addressed the congregation, and thanked everyone who helped her over the hump.  She will NOT need chemo!  Judy Christensen has completed her final long-term wound care.  She has also been now declared cancer free!  What fantastic news for these beautiful ladies!

Eileen DeSando finished our new directories, and they were distributed after service!  Miriam Sandoval designed the cover.  That was a humongous amout of effort and time, so Eileen gets a standing ovation! They will be on the Connection Table, and they are free.  One per family, please.  These are only for people who attend Revolution Church.

Seniors 55+ are invited to St. Patrick’s Day lunch at noon on Wed, 15th, at the church.  If you plan on attending and bringing a dish to pass and have not yet signed up, you need to let Kathy Felchlin know you are coming. There is no cost for this monthly meal.

Ann Nordsell, RN, is the point person for shut-ins receiving vaccines at home by staff from the Will Co. Health Dept. This service can be quite handy for those who have great difficulty traveling for medical services. Available vaccines are: Covid, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Shingles, Flu, and Hepatitis A&B. You must have Medicaid or Medicare to be considered for eligibility.

Pastor Billy’s online Genesis Bible study is Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on his Face Book page. We are in Chapter 9-10.  If you cannot access Face Book, go to Pastor Shred on You Tube videos and watch from there.   Because of technical difficulties the show couldn’t be aired, so accept our apologies for the cancellation.  We will be back this week.

Pastor Billy’s Worship Wednesday is noon on FB and You Tube. This week’s topic was “What Are You Allergic To?” featuring Yates, Tyler, Sherman/”What Mercy Did for Me” and For King and Country with Dolly Parton/”God Only Knows”.

If you are interested in learning about evangelism and how to do it effectively, we need you to sign the interest sheet on the Connect Table. Pastor Bob can answer questions about a possible upcoming class

There are ongoing Ladies Journaling, 8 am (Penny Knott) and Core Christian Doctrine class 9 am (Pastor Bob) Sunday mornings before church.  You are invited!

Happy Birthday to Linda Lee on the 15th and little Levi Hippenhammer on the 12th!  David Gross celebrates on the 16th.  We fondly remember Bob Brown who was born on St. Patrick’s Day.

Prayers for Lisa Jasinksi who was hospitalized several days this week. Veronica Lopez is still recuperating at home after an extended health absence.

“Big Kevin” Giera AKA “Eclipse” has back surgery Wednesday, and we had special prayer for him during the service that the operation will give him pain relief.  We also offer condolences to the Gieras as Kevin’s sister-in-law, Jean, died on Tuesday.

Fishes and Loaves is providing meals to the Gieras during the first two post-op weeks.  Since Kevin lives so far away, it is easier to bring freezer meals or non-perishables to the church for one person to deliver to his home.  Thank you to those who brought food today.  Somebody will deliver food to him next Sunday after service if you’d like to bless the family.  Gift cards for a restaurant would be helpful if you are not much of a cook.  Thanks for helping!

We hope you enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day bulletin board on the Graybars Project table.  We have several in the church with Irish blood, so we hope you enjoy your holiday Friday and celebrate responsibly.

Mark your calendars for Good Friday service Friday, April 7th, 7 pm.  This is one of the most memorable services of the year.  Easter Sunday is April 9th.  Please begin inviting family and friends, and let’s fill every chair.

Have a blessed week!  See you all next Sunday at 10 a.m.
