December 6, 2020:

Welcome, December!  Please be kind to us.

Friends, how did you like the new light curtain behind the stage?  Gene O’Brien and Diane McCullough helped to create that beauty!  The whole sanctuary is so festive.  Now is the time to invite friends to come check out your church.  Mark your calendar for Thursday, Christmas Eve, for 5 pm for our public candlelight service.  It should last about an hour.

Today Pastor Billy began his December sermon series, “Home Alone”, with a message called “Gloom to Glory” from Isaiah 9:1-7.  Songs were “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “God With Us”, and the classic hymn, “It Is Well” for all the people who crave the golden oldies. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Thank you to sisters Linda DeLost and Diane McCullough for lighting the Candle of Peace and reading our second Advent scriptures.

Many thanks to all who shared non-perishables with the local food pantry drive today! We were able to feed several local families with your items!

Thanks to all who contributed  the seven large bags of warm jackets and coats to bless the MorningStar Missions based in Joliet! God is pleased with generosity and compassion! This officially ends our winter coat drive.

December 13th is our annual Ugly Sweater contest, so let those freak flags fly and get creative! There will be prizes for the top three outfits, so put on your thinking caps, and let’s have fun!

Remember that Pastor Julian has an ongoing collection of new socks for the homeless in a basket beside the camera table! Thank you to all who have already brought socks to help keep the street people warmer and drier.

George Carroll is rebooting the Safety/Security Team.  Sign up at the Connection Table to schedule an interview with George in January if you would like to serve!

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study happens on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on his Face Book page.  Everybody is welcome to pop in and learn.  No charge.

Something else that is no charge is our picture directory found on the Connection Table.  Who still doesn’t have theirs? Take home your copy to keep in touch with church friends during the pandemic. Are you reaching out to those who are missing from our congregation?  If you haven’t seen somebody in a while, take a couple minutes and check on their wellbeing. It’s important that nobody falls through the cracks.

Special prayers for Durk Lee in post-op therapy at home.   Brian Fischer is now home from the hospital and regaining his strength. Yay!  Our favorite doorman, Charlie Printy has been in the hospital several days this week, too.

Send up extra prayers for the Petersen family as Cynthia’s father, Mr. Calvin Honeycutt, passed away Wednesday evening in South Dakota. His service will be there Monday.

Happy Birthday wishes to Harvey Ferguson, Jr! Happy Birthday to our spunkiest greeter, Freda Wolfenden, too!

We strongly encourage you to watch from home should you be feeling poorly. We are trying our hardest to protect each other from illness so we can all enjoy the holiday season in good health.  Hugging and shaking hands is not advised at our church this time with the increase in covid cases in our communities. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided near the entrance if you forget your own.  Be safe and be smart!  See you all next Sunday!

November 29, 2020:

Hello again friends and family! After waking from our food comas, we waddled into worship in our drawstring stretchy pants today after a weekend of feasting and stuffing ourselves with leftovers! We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving even though many of us couldn’t gather as usual because of covid precautions!  Next year will be better!

Wasn’t the church gorgeous today?  Round of applause for Judy Fash and her team of volunteers who came on Friday and Saturday to beautify God’s house in celebration of Jesus’s birthday! A+ job! They were treated to pizza for their hard work.

Today Pastor Billy continued his November sermon series, “Un-Civil War”, with a message called “Better Together” from Luke 5:17-26. Thanks to Autumn Hensle and the team of friends who carried him to Jesus to help illustrate the sermon.   Songs were “Open Up the Heavens”, “Once Again (Thank You For the Cross )” for Communion, “Even So Come” to kick off Advent, and “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”  There was prayer meeting after church for those who wished to stay.  You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Thank you to Greg and Judy Fash for lighting the Candle of Hope and Expectation and reading our first Advent scriptures.

December 13th is our annual Ugly Sweater Sunday, so pull out the sequins, pompoms, and glue guns and get creative! There will be prizes for the top three!

Morning Star Mission in Joliet is still in need of your extra coats and jackets for men, women, and children. Leave your new or gently used items at the church THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY or at Bruce Smit’s Frankfort Foot and Ankle Clinic on W. Lincoln Hwy BY DECEMBER 5th, and let’s help folks stay warm!

Remember that Pastor Julian is still collecting new socks for the homeless in a basket beside the camera table, too! This is the season of compassion for the last, lost, and least in our neighborhoods. Thank you to all who have already brought socks!

Today was the final day to collect postage stamps, birthday and holiday cards for the Graybars Project outreach to local prisoners for Christmas!  The men at Joliet Treatment Center will be so blessed by your generosity.  Thank you for caring!

George Carroll is rebooting the Safety/Security Team.  Sign up at the Connection Table to schedule an interview with George in January if you would like to serve!

Next Sunday is our monthly food pantry collection.  Leave your non-perishables at the table in the back.

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study happens on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on his Face Book page.  Everybody is welcome to pop in and learn.  No charge.

Something else that is no charge is our church picture directory found on the Connection Table. Take home your copy to keep in touch during the pandemic. Are you reaching out to those who are missing from our congregation?  If you haven’t seen somebody in a while, take a couple minutes and check on their wellbeing. It’s important!

Durk Lee was discharged from the hospital Friday and is now recuperating at home following complications from gallbladder removal. Pray for strength for the Lees during these difficult days of therapy and regaining strength.

It is great to have John Baron back with us after being gone for family medical reasons for a long while!

Special prayers for Brian Fischer, Elena, Julian and Miriam Sandoval.  Get well soon, friends! Send up extra prayers for the Petersen family as Cynthia’s father appears to be near the end of his life.

Let us all be cautious and wise.  If you are feeling poorly, please watch church from home that week.  Hugging and shaking hands is not advised at this time with the increase in covid cases in our communities.  Masks and hand sanitizer are provided if you forget your own.  Let us all be responsible to protect each other so nobody’s holidays are spoiled with illness.  We hope to see your smiling faces again next Sunday at 10 am!

November 22, 2020:

Hello again friends and family! Thanks for stopping by to see what’s happening at church this week as we approach Thanksgiving!

Today Pastor Billy continued his November sermon series, “Un-Civil War”, with a message called “Thankful” from Phil. 4:4-7.

Songs were “The Table”, “Forever”, “Doxology”, “How Great is Our God/How Great Thou Art” and Matthew West’s “Gobble Gobble”.  It also was open mic for members to share what they are thankful for this year.   You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Friends, we MUST stay diligent with hand sanitizing, social distancing, and masking when out of our seats. Waves and smiles are requested vs handshakes and hugs at this time. As we enter into flu season and are also hearing that covid cases are increasing in our communities, be smart and respect your fellow church members by doing your part.

It is once again time to collect postage stamps, birthday and holiday cards for the Graybars Project outreach to local prisoners for Christmas!  This year we will bless the men at Joliet Treatment Center with unsigned cards that they will be able to send to their own loved ones for the holidays. Leave your donations at the rear table now through the end of the month. Colored envelopes are acceptable for this project, but glitter is still a no-no! Next Sunday is your FINAL DAY to contribute.

Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th at 10 a.m.  Judy Fash and her team of volunteers will be decorating the church for the holidays.  She sure had it looking beautiful for fall, so we are eager to see what she has in mind for Christmas. This will be FUN!

Friday evening at 6:30pm Special Ops Prayer Meeting begins at the church.  Stay a while or stay til it ends near 8 pm. Pastor Bob is hosting this monthly event.

Morning Star Mission in Joliet is still in need of your extra coats and jackets for men, women, and children. Leave your new or gently used items at the church or at Bruce Smit’s Frankfort Foot and Ankle Clinic on W. Lincoln Hwy through the end of November, and let’s help folks stay warm! Next Sunday ends the coat drive!

Remember that Pastor Julian is still collecting new socks for the homeless in a basket beside the camera table, too! This is the season of compassion for the last, lost, and least in our neighborhoods.

George Carroll is rebooting the Safety/Security Team.  Sign up at the Connection Table to schedule an interview with George if you would like to serve!

Durk Lee spent several days in ICU and is still recuperating in the hospital following complications from gallbladder removal. We hope he will be home and pedaling his bicycle again before Turkey Day!

Happy Birthday to Kevin Ward and Zachary Smith on Thursday!  Diane Neakarse celebrates her birthday on Wednesday!

Condolences to the Sandoval family upon the passing of Julian’s Uncle Matias.

Condolences to the Petersen family upon the passing of Cynthia’s Uncle Richard.

Remember to set your scales back ten pounds Wednesday night! Share some love with those who will be feeling lonely on Thursday. Gratitude helps us to see what it there instead of what isn't.  Next year will surely be easier.  We will see you again next Sunday at 10 am to kick off the season of Advent!

November 15, 2020:

Hello, Family, Friends, and Looky-Loos! Thanks for stopping by to see what’s happening at church this week!

We MUST stay diligent with hand sanitizing, social distancing, and masking when out of our seats or mingling. Waves and smiles are much safer than handshakes and hugs at this time. As we enter into flu season and are also hearing on TV that covid cases are increasing in the state, be smart and respect and care for your fellow church members by doing your part!

Today Pastor Billy continued his November sermon series, “Un-Civil War”, with a message called “What Now?” from Luke 6:27-28 and Genesis 1:26-27.  Special thanks to George Carroll for his archery skills during the message!  That was impressive and right on target! Songs were “God of Wonders”, “Greatness of Our God”, “Way Maker” and “In the Garden”.  You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Offering envelopes are found under each seat. To avoid hand-to-hand contact, we are still not passing the plate.  Volunteers stay after service to do the financial bookkeeping, so please try to drop your tithes and offerings in the box on the Connection Table as quickly after service as possible so they can record a total and get home in a timely fashion.  You can also use PayPal or mail your check.  Thank you for taking care of the financial needs of your church!

Wednesday was Veterans Day, and we cannot ever miss an opportunity to appreciate the men and women who have defended our United States of America. To all those at Revolution who are military, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Men’s Quarterly Breakfast was yesterday here at the church with a dozen attending. Food was catered by Teardrop Restaurant. Pastor Bob gave the devotional.  Listen for announcements for the December donut gathering!

It is once again time to collect birthday and holiday cards for the Graybars Project outreach to local prisoners for Christmas!  This year we will bless the men at Joliet Treatment Center with unsigned cards that they will be able to send to their own loved ones for the holidays. Leave your donations at the rear table now through the end of the month. Colored envelopes are acceptable for this project, but glitter is still a no-no! Dollar Tree has a wonderful selection already! Most prisoners have little to no money, and this is a way they can send some joy back to their families.

Morning Star Mission in Joliet is in need of your extra coats and jackets for men, women, and children. Leave your new or gently used items at the church through the end of November, and let’s help folks stay warm!  Remember that Pastor Julian is still collecting new socks for the homeless in a basket beside the camera table, too! This is the season of compassion for the last, lost, and least in our neighborhoods.

Durk Lee spent several days in ICU and is still recuperating in the hospital following complications from gallbladder removal. We hope he will be home and pedaling his bicycle again before Turkey Day!  Sending hellos and love to Mike and Sue.  Long time, no see.  You are missed here! Tip of the cap to Cornelius who is enjoying his sweet tea as he reads this column across the miles each week. Hello to Trinity and Lakeda in TX, and Sue Mulder all the way down in sunny AZ! We have so many friends of Revolution Church who stay connected via internet from across the miles.

Debbie and Greg Struck celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary this weekend! John Grafrath up in NY just celebrated his birthday! Dawn Gonda has a birthday Nov. 16th! She is in charge of our Fishes and Loaves ministry, so if you enjoy cooking and would like to prepare a meal now and again for those in our congregation who have special circumstances that make cooking temporarily difficult or impossible, see Dawn, and she will teach you real quick how to be a blessing in this area.

Condolences to Bob and Rita Brown upon the passing of Bob’s brother, Kenneth.

Who needs some holiday spirit and joy?  If that is YOU, please sign up at the connection table to help decorate the church for Christmas on Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th at 10 am.  Judy Fash is in charge and can answer your questions if you need more info!  This will be FUN!

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study happens on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm on his Face Book page.  Everybody is welcome to pop in and learn.  No charge.  Check it out!

Try to stay warm and check on one another.  If you notice somebody is missing that is usually here, take a couple minutes and check on their wellbeing. It’s important!  Remember, there are encouragement cards found under each seat.  Jot a note, and leave in the connection card box, and the church will stamp and mail it. We will see you again next Sunday at 10 am!

October 25, 2020:

Happy Sunday, friends! It was good to see so many out to worship this morning! Several are saying this is the most vibrant year for leaf colors they can remember in decades. God has been painting His trees for our delight! Here’s what’s happening at church:

Today Pastor Billy continued his October sermon series with a message called “Pandemic” from Genesis 3:15, Revelation 12:9, and Deuteronomy 30:19-20. Songs were “Enough”, “We Believe”, “Jesus Paid It All” for Communion, and “We’ve Got the Power”.  Following the service there was our end of month churchwide prayer meeting for those who wished to stay. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Thank you to Bruce Smit who brought the Rx Savings cards to share at the Harvest Table. Hopefully, those will save you several dollars on your next medicine.  This is end of growing season, so unless we have pumpkin farmers that start attending, this wraps it up for bringing produce to church.  Thanks for all who participated and shared their surplus!

Next week is our monthly food pantry collection.  Leave your non-perishables on the table at the back of the church.  We will need some guys to help load the groceries in the Lee’s car after service.

Special Ops Prayer Meeting will be Friday at 6:30 pm at the church for all who wish to come pray before election.  Pastor Bob asks you to write names of friends and loved ones who need salvation so they may be included in the prayers this night.  Stay as little or as long as you wish.

Beside the camera table is a basket to collect socks for Pastor Julian’s Warm Their Soles homeless ministry.  Because of Covid restrictions, the monthly trips to the Morning Star Mission are on hold, but we can still gift the people with socks! The Sandovals can give you more information on this wonderful ministry of compassion.

Men’s Quarterly Breakfast is November 14th at the church.  This is catered food, so you are required to sign up on the clipboard on the Connection Table so reserve your place.  Pastor Bob can answer your questions.

Happy Anniversary to Donna and Gary! Happy Birthday to Greg Struck on the 29th! (Let us know if you have special news, birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements in your family, and they will appear here.  We don’t want to miss anybody!)

You are invited to tune in for free on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm on Pastor’s Face Book page. It’s been so interesting.  Check it out if you haven’t already.  Let’s share these lessons on our own Face Book pages so we can grow the class!

To avoid hand-to-hand contact, we are still not passing the plate just yet.  Offering envelopes are found under each seat. They take excellent care of all of us, and they deserve honor!   THANK YOU!  YOU ARE LOVED BY THIS FLOCK OF “SLIGHTLY IRREGULAR” SHEEP!

We are still in need of extra ushers and greeters!  If you would like to serve in this area, Elena Sandoval would love to train you and put you to work! Who wants to learn to flash the song lyrics on the screen during worship? Cynthia Petersen would love to show you how that’s done.  Your church needs you now!

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study has included viewers from many states and multiple countries and has been averaging 300-400 participants each week! You are invited to tune in for free on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm on Pastor’s Face Book page.

Do not let even one person slip through the cracks!

October 11, 2020:

Happy Sunday, friends! It was good to see so many out to worship on this sunshiny morning! Here’s what’s happening:

Today Pastor Billy continued his October sermon series with a message about the Prodigal Son called “Consequences” from Luke 15 and Deuteronomy 30:19-20. Songs were “Hello My Name Is”, “Redeemed”, “Shout to the Lord”, and “Just As I Am”.  You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Following service, Graybars Project held their annual appreciation day for those who have served and donated to the prison ministry.  Lunch was provided, many door prizes awarded, and then Pastor Bob and Heather’s son, Bobby, shared the story of his incarceration.  It was an inspirational day with laughter and tears, and we thank all who worked hard to make it possible!

Thank you to the guys who came out on Saturday for Donuts and Devotional! We do this again in November, so listen for the announcement.

Beside the camera table is a basket to collect socks for Pastor Julian’s Warm Their Soles homeless ministry, because the temperatures have started to dip, and we want our brothers and sisters to at least have warm feet.  Because of Covid restrictions, the monthly trips to the Morning Star Mission are on hold.  The Sandovals can give you more information on this wonderful ministry.

We are in need of extra ushers and greeters!  If you would like to serve in this area, Elena Sandoval would love to train you and put you to work!  Your church needs you now!

Happy Birthday to Eileen DeSando tomorrow!  She is the talented writer behind the Daily Scriptures online devotionals. Happy 28th Anniversary to Phil and Deaconess Michelle Grifford! Happy Birthday on the 15th to Debbie Dobias! Congratulations to Jason Hippenhammer on becoming the newest FedEx delivery guy!  YAY!  (Let us know if you have special news, birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements in your family, and they will appear here.  We don’t want to miss anybody!)

Thank you to all who donated to last week’s food collection.  We were able to take a good amount of non-perishables to our local food bank!

Thank you to the people who brought fresh green and red tomatoes to share on the Harvest Table today!

Thank you to all the people who donated items for the Graybars Project book drive!  Since the local correctional facilities we serve are not accepting donations because of covid restrictions, our items restocked library shelves for a jail in the Appalachian mountains of NC.  We received many religious hardbacks and Bible study books that did not meet guidelines for that jail, so those were shared with an Assembly of God and a Baptist church in that same region.  All three places send big thank yous for your generosity!

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study has been averaging 300-400 participants each week! You are invited to tune in for free on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm on Pastor’s Face Book page.

To avoid hand-to-hand contact, we are still not passing the plate just yet.  Offering envelopes are found under each seat. Have a blessed week!  We will see you again at church next Sunday at 10 am!

October 4, 2020:

Happy Sunday, friends! Welcome to October!  It was good to see so many out to worship on this chippy morning! Here’s what’s happening:

Today Pastor Billy began his October sermon series with a message called “To Be A Blessing” from Matthew 14:13-21 and Deuteronomy 30:19-20. Songs were “Love the Lord”, “Here I Am to Worship”, a new hit from Kari Jobe ,“The Blessing”, and “Fill My Cup, Lord”.  You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Much appreciation to those who supported our local food pantry by bringing in your non-perishables today! Remember we do this the first Sunday of each month.

It has been seven months since our last men’s fellowship event, so we are happy to announce Men’s Donuts and Devotional will be at the church Saturday, October 10, at 8 am. This time we need you to sign up at the Connection Table to get a head count. Pastor Bob can give you more info.

Next Sunday Graybars Project will host their annual appreciation event for those who have supported our prison outreach by volunteering this past year. Those who RSVP’d, we will see you there!

We are in need of extra ushers and greeters!  If you would like to serve in this area, Elena Sandoval would love to train you and put you to work!  Your church needs you now!

Happy 52nd anniversary to Bob and Rita Brown!  Wow!  In this day and age 52 years together is majorly impressive!  Happy 14th Anniversary to Julian and Miriam Sandoval! Elisabeth Hippenhammer turned 9 this week! Happy Birthday to Heather Smith today! Lakeda Vaughn celebrates on the 7th at her new home in TX! We sure do miss you and Trinity, Lakeda! (Let us know if you have special news, birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements in your family, and they will appear here.  We don’t want to miss anybody!)

Pastor Billy’s Book of Acts online study has included viewers from many states and multiple countries and has been averaging 300-400 participants each week! You are invited to tune in for free on Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 pm on Pastor’s Face Book page.

To avoid hand-to-hand contact, we are still not passing the plate just yet.  Offering envelopes are found under each seat. Volunteers stay after service to do the financial bookkeeping, so please try to drop your tithes and offerings in the box on the Connection Table as quickly after service as possible so they can record a total and get home in a timely fashion.  You can also use PayPal or mail your check.  Thank you, faithful supporters!

See you right back here on this page next Sunday afternoon!

Happy Sunday, friends!  It was good to see so many out to worship on this beautiful fall morning! Here’s what’s happening:

Today we shared in Communion together, and then Pastor Billy completed the spiritual warfare sermon series with a message called “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord” from Job 1:13, 20-21. Songs were “Open the Eyes of my Heart”, “Blessed Be the Name”, and “Communion”.  Monthly prayer meeting followed after service for those who wished to stay.  You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

Special Ops Prayer Meeting was here Friday evening at the church. Thank you to all who came out to pray. Mark your calendar for the last Friday of each month for this gathering.

Remember we will be collecting non-perishables for the local food bank NEXT Sunday. Keep in mind that at this time they do NOT need pasta, potatoes, rice, sugar or flour.  Durk and Linda Lee can give you more information about this ministry.

October 11, Sunday afternoon, Graybars Project will host their annual appreciation event for those who have supported our prison outreach by volunteering this past year.  Bobby Smith, Pastor Bob and Heather’s son, is guest speaker! Volunteers must sign up at the Connection Table by NEXT SUNDAY for final headcount.

Thank you to all the people who donated paperback novels for the Graybars Project book drive!  Since the local correctional facilities we serve are not accepting donations because of covid restrictions, this collection will restock library shelves for adult men and women in a rural NC detention center.  No books can be accepted after today.

We are in need of extra ushers and greeters!  If you would like to serve in this area, Elena Sandoval would love to train you and put you to work!  Your church needs you now!

Thank you to the person who brought free tomatoes and squash this morning! If you have extra homegrown herbs, flowers, fruits, or veggies, we invite you to leave them on the hospitality table each week so that nothing goes to waste. Leave what you can and take what you need before harvest season is over.

Happy Birthday to Debbie Struck on October 1! Heather Smith celebrates next Sunday!  (Let us know if you have special news, birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements in your family, and they will appear here.  We don’t want to miss anybody!)

September 20, 2020:

Happy Sunday, friends!  It was good to see so many out to worship on this beautiful morning! Here’s what is going on:

Today Pastor Billy continued the sermon series, “Armor of God“, with a message called “Who’s the Boss” from Job 1:1-4.  Our songs were “Church – Take Me Back”, “I’ll Fly Away”, and “Cannons”. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

After church there was a potluck luncheon for those who lead ministries here.  Thank you for another year of service at Revolution. It takes a strong team to keep this ministry running like a well-oiled machine.

Special Ops Prayer Meeting will be here at the church Friday, September 25, 6:30-8:30 pm.  Come and stay as long as you like as we do spiritual warfare with our weapon of prayer.  Pastor Bob can give you more information about this monthly event.

It has been seven months since our last men’s fellowship event, so we are happy to announce Men’s Donuts and Devotional will be at the church Saturday, October 10, at 8 am. This time we need you to sign up at the Connection Table to get a head count. Pastor Bob can give you more info.

Beside the camera table is a basket to collect socks for Pastor Julian’s Warm Their Soles homeless ministry.  Just today some of these socks and some Blessing Bags were gifted to some chilly people trying to live in a tent at the underpass behind a cemetery in Joliet. Because of Covid restrictions, the monthly trips to the Morning Star Mission are on hold.  The Sandovals can give you more information on this wonderful ministry.

October 11, Sunday afternoon, Graybars Project will host their annual appreciation event for those who have supported our prison outreach by volunteering this past year.  Bobby Smith, Pastor Bob and Heather’s son, is guest speaker! Seating is limited, so volunteers must sign up at the Connection Table THIS SUNDAY for final headcount.

We need your gently used paperback novels NEXT WEEK, Sunday 27th for a Graybars Project outreach to restock the jail library shelves for adult men and women.  This year all doors have been closed to us for book drives because of Covid-19 closures, but we have this last-minute green light for one facility!  DO NOT BRING hardbacks, textbooks, books with highlighted passages, or damaged books as these are against jail policy. Put them directly into Tammy and Bruce’s truck and not inside the building.  No books can be accepted after NEXT SUNDAY.

We are in need of extra ushers and greeters!  If you would like to serve in this area, Elena Sandoval would love to train you and put you to work!  Your church needs you now!

Thank you to the person who brought free eggplant and to the Knotts who shared fresh picked orchard apples this morning! If you have extra homegrown herbs, flowers, fruits, or veggies, we invite you to leave them on the hospitality table each week so that nothing goes to waste. Leave what you can and take what you need.

Happy Sunday!  What a gorgeous morning God gave us for gathering to worship! Welcome back to “What’s Happening”!  Here’s what is going on:

Today Pastor Billy continued the sermon series, “Armor of God“, with a message called “Stronghold” from 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.  Our songs were “You Are Good”, “Who You Say I Am ”, and “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone”. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH late Sunday evening to view our preaching service and past messages.

At the end of the service we clapped and cheered as we had the joy of watching six of our members be baptized! Because of chilly water temperatures, we moved the event from the Grifford’s pool back to the church sanctuary. Big thanks to the muscle men who stepped up to be sure everybody could enter and exit the water safely! Congratulations to Jamie Voustros, Linda Delost, Grant and Faith Cromwell, Susan Ruether, and Mike Seklecki.

It has been seven months since our last men’s fellowship event, so we are happy to announce Men’s Donuts and Devotional will be at the church Saturday, October 10, at 8 am. This time we need you to sign up at the Connection Table to get a head count. Pastor Bob can give you more info.

Thanks to all who brought items for our food drive last week.  Two carloads of your gifts were delivered to the local food pantry!

Congratulations to Brenda Hajek who welcomed a great granddaughter, Nora Sage, into the family this week! (Let us know if you have special news, birthdays, anniversaries, or achievements in your family, and they will appear here.  We don’t want to miss anybody!)
