March 8, 2020:
Hello again, friends and family!
Today was time change Sunday, and for those who “sprung forward” and rolled out of bed an hour early, we provided complimentary donuts, juice, and coffee. For some of you, the clock in your car and your microwave will finally be right again. Yay!
In the light of the global coronavirus concerns, we saw many light-hearted ankle and elbow bumpings rather than handshakes and hugs, and that is alright. Linda Delost was kind enough to leave copies of a DIY hand sanitizer formula on the Connection Table for those who are finding their stores sold out.
Pastor Billy continued the series, “The Letters of 1-2-3 John”, with a message called “The Spirit, the Water, and the Blood”. Text was 1 John 5:1-12. Diane McCullough prayed the closing prayer. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH to view this and other past messages. Today’s sermon should be up by Monday afternoon
This morning’s songs were “I’ll Fly Away”, “This Is Amazing Grace”, “We Believe”, “Even So Come”, and “Victory in Jesus”.
The proofs for our new directory are on the Connection Table. It is your responsibility to view your contact info and either make corrections or put a check mark beside it if it meets your approval.
A dozen men attended the Iron Sharpens Iron conference in Orland Park in February! Pastor Bob asked each attendee to think on one thing they found inspirational from the classes and be prepared to share it at the next Donuts and Devotional at the church on March 14th. (Note the new 8 a.m. time!) No charge. No sign-up. Just bring a male buddy and show up!
Following the Donuts event Warm Their Soles volunteers will travel to Joliet at 10 a.m. to minister at Morning Star Mission. This is open to anybody who has a heart for the homeless. The Sandovals can give you more information!
St. Patrick’s Day senior ministry corned beef holiday meal will be at the church on March 18 at noon. If you are 55 or older, you are invited. Wear green if you wish! If you haven’t already signed up at the Connection Table, please let us know you are coming so we will set a place for you! Kathy Felchlin, coordinator, can answer any questions. (Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, consider venturing back to the prison outreach table and check out the holiday scriptures and Irish prayers display before it is gone.)
Have you been baptized? March 22 during service will be our next baptizing, so if you wish to be included or have questions, indicate this on your connection card, and someone will be in touch. We already have four people eager to take this next step, so don’t be shy if you would like to participate.
Mark your calendars now for Easter services! One of our most memorable services each year is Good Friday. Join us here Friday, April 10 at 7 pm. Easter Sunday is April 12! Ask your friends and family NOW before they make other plans. We want to pack the church!
Have you taken advantage of our new service to help those struggling to hear the sermon? We are super excited to offer those with hearing difficulties a downloadable app that will provide more volume and clarity in our services! You simply need to provide your own headphones, and then we can quickly teach you how it works!
Happy Birthday today to little Levi Hippenhammer, and Monday to our keyboard player, Tammy Smit! Bob Hensle (a.k.a. “Autumn’s Grandpa”) celebrates on the 11th! Cathy Price seeing this online, we love you and hope you had a whoop-ti-do birthday! When you come back the area, come take in a service. Special greetings going across the miles to one of our quiet supporters, Cornelius L. who faithfully reads this column! Thank you for loving us all these years, “Corny”. We sure do appreciate you!
Durk Lee was in Silver Cross Hospital but was sent home last Sunday afternoon. He appeared to be back to his sweet self at church this morning.
We sure do miss our jolly Lakeda Vaughn and her granddaughter, Trinity! Last week we printed a note she’d sent, and now we have her newest address. Feel free to get in touch and let them know they are not forgotten.

It was a treat to see the Grafrath family walk through the doors! We have missed Carrie since she moved to New York! Enjoy them while they are still in town.
Now that you are all caught up on our current events, shut down the computer and go outside and soak up this warm spring sunshine for as long as it lasts! What a glorious Sunday! Since so many of us have Irish roots, today we leave you with a traditional Irish blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

March 1, 2020:
Hello again, friends! It feels like Winter and Spring have both been fighting for custody, and today Spring won! What a blessing to leave the mittens and snow boots in the closet and have sun on our faces on this beautiful Sunday morning. This is the day the Lord has made, and we will rejoice and be happy!
Tomorrow marks the 6th year anniversary of the first public service of Revolution Church. We met in the Founders Center in Frankfort for that kick-off service. We have lost some members to death, relocation, or simply finding a church that was a better fit, but many of our founders are still with us, still serving, still working hard and faithfully to help this church continue to grow. Thank you to all who donate their time, treasure, and talents to help us thrive!

Durk Lee has been in Silver Cross Hospital this week. At time of this newsletter, there is no update from family, so we hope he is already home or will be very soon!
We sure do miss our sweet Lakeda Vaughn and her granddaughter, Trinity! Here is a note from her: “I send my love and miss everyone. I will see everyone soon. I pray that God is moving in everyone’s lives as he is moving in mine. Living in the Chicagoland area made it very difficult for me to move to Texas. It has been such a significant adjustment, but I have found a new church at the ARK. It’s not Pastor Billy, but a close second. I thank you for all of your love and prayers. Revolution will ALWAYS be my church home. I love you all! -- Lakeda”

Men’s quarterly breakfast was yesterday with eight attending. Those out of town and stuck working were missed, but the guys that showed up ate their bacon for them, because that’s what friends are for! Food was catered by Teardrop Café, and Pastor Bob delivered the devotional.
The next men’s fellowship event is Donuts and Devotional at the church Saturday, February 8, 8 am. This is free, and we would like you to invite your friends so we can have a strong turn out. It only lasts about an hour, so you will still have plenty of time to finish your weekend Honey-Do list.
Church Membership Class will be NEXT SUNDAY, January 19, after service. This is your opportunity to hear about the founding, the vision, and the values of this church. There is no obligation to join if you simply want to come and ask your questions. You must sign up for this!
Annual business meeting will be January 26 after church. If you are a member, you are invited to stay. We will go over new business, explain objectives, and review the budget for 2020.
Men’s Conference, Iron Sharpens Iron 2020, is Saturday February 22 in Orland Park! All men are invited to sign up at the Connection Table. The early bird cost is $66 which includes the conference AND lunch. Price drops to $57 if we have 10 or more attending. A few partial and full scholarships are available if you find yourself with too much month at the end of your money. Please see Pastor Bob Smith for details.
Warm Their Soles homeless ministry is collecting new socks each week. Look for their collection bin near the Connection Table. You are always welcome to accompany the group to the shelter in Joliet the second Saturday of each month. Ask the Sandovals for more info if you think you would enjoy this type of outreach!
Speaking of the Sandovals, we might start referring to Pastor Julian as “The Incredible Shrinking Man”. This guy has been intentional about his caloric intake and has dropped 40 lbs in about a month! Not four. FORTY. That is truly impressive!
The Chambers family would like to acknowledge the first anniversary of the January 6th, 2019 passing of Ken Chambers, a marvelous man, father, Papa, husband, father-in-law, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to so many. Ken served in the United States Navy. We ask a blessing over these people. We are so happy to have Desiray and Sandy as part of our congregation!
Gary Ellinger goes in for hip replacement Tuesday. Let’s pray for a successful procedure and super fast recovery for him so he can get back into the woods and hunt again!
J.C. and Sonia McHargue, we have not forgotten about you! Sending get-well wishes to you today through this screen. Come back when you can. We have saved your seats!
Congratulations to Deaconess Michelle Grifford for landing a new full-time position at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort! What a lovely place to work! Those trees!
Happy Birthday to Desiray Chambers on Friday! The Birthday Fairy just gave her an early gift of another hamster as her beloved “Bubba” died this weekend.
Thanking God that sweet little Whitney Rosendale is thriving. From being such a fragile preemie not long ago to being all healthy and smiley at church today, we can honestly say,"You've come a long way, Baby!"
We begin the music at 10 am sharp, so come a bit early for hot coffee and to get settled in your seat so you won’t miss any of the worship. There is 9:30 am pre-service prayer in the office if you want to come earlier. See you next Sunday!

December 29, 2019:
Welcome back! I see we all somehow managed to survive Christmas 2019 and come waddling in in our pants with the elastic waistbands and the smell of cookies and fudge on our breath. We hope you enjoyed some time to feast, fellowship, and simply rest during the world’s biggest birthday party for Jesus. Let’s see what’s been happening here at Revolution Church during this final week of the decade!
A very raspy Pastor Billy took a holiday breather, and Pastor Bob (also hoarse!) wrapped up December’s sermons on this Communion Sunday with a message called “One Year Ends Another Begins “. Portions of the texts included: John 16:33, Isaiah 54:17, and Romans 8:31-39. Closing prayer was by Heather Smith. You can go to the main menu and click WATCH to view this and other past messages. Today’s sermon should be up by Monday afternoon.
Today’s songs were “Enough”, “God With Us”, “Hello My Name Is”, “Jesus Paid it All, and “Glory in the Highest”. After service was the monthly prayer meeting for those who wished to stay.
We appreciate all who came out for our candlelight Christmas Eve service. We welcomed several first-time visitors that evening. Brenda Hajek and Harvey Ferguson lit the final candle of Advent, the Christ candle. Thank you to all who took part to make it a meaningful service.
White Elephant Lunch is January 8th, so if you are 55 or older, bring something to regift, and be at church at noon for some fun and good food. We need you to sign up at the Connection Table indicating what you are bringing to eat.

Happy birthday to Mishel Rych and Sue Mulder this week! (By the way, Sue is here from AZ, so enjoy her fast before Christmas vacation is over!)
Debbie Struck was with us today following a very painful knee procedure a couple of weeks ago. It was good to see Pastor Julian back and in good spirits after his battles with a cantankerous gallbladder!
The Van Kuikens shared the most glorious news to wrap up 2019! While the rest of us were waiting for flying reindeer, THEY were waiting for a STORK! Yep, Erin is carrying their first long-awaited child due in July! YAY! Thank you, Lord, for answered prayer!
Remember, we collect items for the local food pantry the first Sunday of each month, so your non-perishables can be left at the big table beside the coffee pot next week.
Behave, and have a safe New Year’s celebration!
In 2020 may you find yourself filthy RICH:
RICH in Adventure
RICH in Health
RICH in Laughter
RICH in Family
and RICH in Love!
See you next year!
